During the performances of the MCN Capoeirashow, rapid gymnastics and unbelievable somersaults show what Capoeira is all about.
The shows of MCN Capoeirshow are divided into four separate parts:
- Maculele: An authentic dance with African roots practised throughout Brazil
- Samba (de roda do recôncavo): This sensual dance is performed by men and women within a circle of people who are accompanying the dance by singing and clapping their hands.
- Capoeira: With their rapid acrobatics and flexibility the Capoeiristas show their strength and collaboration during the play (combination of martial arts and dance), while always making eye contact with their opponent and a big smile on their face.
- Axe: “a force that gives live/energy”, a popular style of music originating from the federal district Bahia, which is played on many occasions at street parties in Salvador and the rest of Brazil.
At the end of the show, the visitors of MCN in Brazil (or elsewhere) are encouraged to participate in the dances. For more information about the shows in The Netherlands please visit www.capoeirashow.nl.
